Sunday Uchella, M.D.

Dr. Sunday C. Uchella graduated with honors from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1985, earning his MBBS degree. After completing a year-long internship at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital in Enugu, he fulfilled a mandatory one-year National Youth Service at a rural hospital, which concluded in 1987. He subsequently worked as a General Medical Officer at a private hospital in Lagos. In 1990, he moved to the United States to join his fiancée. After passing his board exams and obtaining his ECFMG certification in 1991, Dr. Uchella briefly worked at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., before starting his residency at Howard University Hospital in 1992. He completed his Pediatrics and Child Health residency in 1995 and became board-certified in General Pediatrics the following year. Since then, Dr. Uchella has practiced as a Pediatric Hospitalist at several prominent hospitals in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area and Baltimore, MD.
